“Sing To God Our Savior” is a fun, earthy, yet still devout spiritual in an early American style. One can easily imagine that they are in a camp meeting tent, standing on a sawdust floor,hearing fervent believers praise God. The piece builds throughout until it is very joyous and excited, but then falls down to a thoughtful section proclaiming “Oh my Jesus, how I love you,” which builds in determination leading to the final climactic ending.
